The Caesars Palace "Dealer's Committee" is a group Dealers from each shift who are elected by the Dealers once a year.

Their responsibility is mainly a "check and balance" of the fair distribution of tips and to ensure that all of the tip policies which have been voted in by the Dealers is strictly adhered to (with the exception of those policies management has unlawfully overturned).

The Dealer's Committee is NOT to be confused with the "Toke Cutters" (also voted in once a year), as they are separate individuals.

The Dealer's Committee Representatives (DC) are NOT COMPENSATED FINANCIALLY for their work.

The DC does excellent work and they put in many hours for the benefit of all the Dealers at Caesars Palace!

However, their "hands are tied"

when it comes to negotiating

any kind of employee policies

set by Caesars Palace.

Yes, they may relay to management the "rumblings" of the Dealers about any policy which seems unfair, but they have no real teeth when it comes to amending policy.

They were not able to stop management from taking our "Hospital Tokes" or our "Bereavement Tokes" or do anything when management changed our "Early Out Toke Policy".

Once we VOTE THE UNION IN, the DC members would be excellent candidates for our Shop Stewards and also our Contract Negotiating Committee. They are already aware of all of our issues and have some experience communicating with management.

Yes, we realize many of you may think because the DC has done little to organize the Dealers, and also may think maybe they are to close to management, that possibly they would not be good candidates for either position, but this is why once the Union is VOTED IN we will have open elections for the Union positions.
