At Caesars Palace there is now a “point system” in effect which is designed to punish all employees for various behavior seen as detrimental to the company. The "Point System" was instituted when were bought out by Harrah's a few years ago. One can receive points for almost anything that Caesars Palace management wants to assign it to. They have never given us a complete outline of the the offenses which can accrue points! Yet it has been outlined as to how many total points will warrant warnings, suspensions and terminations, but it has not been outlined as to which "offenses" will receive points! CLICK HERE to see the topic on the "New Attendance Policy" An employee may also get points for lack of job performance, such as a mistake on a game (with 10's of thousands of transactions made by each Dealer weekly, mistakes are apt to occur with even the most seasoned of Dealers). Maybe we can get points for not clocking in or signing in properly? Maybe we can get points for "cross-firing"? Maybe we can get points for being late from break? Maybe we can get points for not being in the proper assigned break area on our breaks? Who knows what all of the possible "offenses" are, they have never told us! They "make it up as they go"! One demonstration as to the unacceptable implementation of the point system, the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) does not recognize being terminated because of "pointing out" as a valid reason for termination of an employee, and therefore makes a terminated employee automatically eligible for Unemployment Compensation (provided they were not terminated for anything else which makes them ineligible).
