It has been a long-standing policy at CP that if you Transfer shifts you must be scheduled off on less than favorable days (Friday and Saturday). You are not allowed to use your seniority for your days off until you have been on the new shift for at least one year, and then after that year you must wait until the days off you may want become available. So, if you are just hired at Caesars Palace, and have Friday and Saturday off, and you are on a less than favorable shift because of your personal life, you will be able to transfer to another shift without any kind of financial penalty. However, if you have worked at CP for years or decades and you have life changing events in your personal life and need to change shifts for whatever your reason, you will be required to have your days off as the same as those who have been at CP for one month, which can result in a loss of income of up to $15K a year. Yet a person who has been at CP for a month can actually have a better day off combo than you because you are not qualified to request a days off change until you have been on the shift for a year, if you have transferred to that shift. It is time to change this policy! Let’s look at any other job in Caesars Palace that is a Union job:
That is the way it should be for dealers as well. Then there is a new Harrah's policy which makes transferring shifts even less favorable, Shift Seniority.
