UNION PROPOSAL: ARTICLE
20: LEAVES OF ABSENCE
Section 1.0 Bereavement Leave: Bargaining unit employees shall be entitled to
three consecutive paid days to attend to the funeral and/or personal matters
surrounding the death of the following family members:
spouse, child (including step children and son/daughter in- law) parent
(including step, in-law) sibling (including step, half, and in law),
grandparent, grandchild (including souse’s grandparent and grandchild),
domestic partner of same sex as defined and authorized per company benefits
plans, legal guardian/ward. If the
funeral is out of state, the employee shall be entitled to 5 days of paid leave.
Paid leave shall not include tips unless approved by the Dealers
Committee By Laws/Tokes By laws. Section
1.1
Leave of Absence for Personal Reasons a.
Upon written request made in advance, except in the event of a bona fide
emergency, Employees will be granted a personal leave of absence for personal
hardships, including medical hardships, up to a maximum of one year, without pay
and without loss of seniority and benefits. b.
Requests for a leave of absence shall not be unreasonably denied,
considering both the Employer’s operational needs and the Employee’s need. c.
Upon return from an approved personal leave the Employee shall be
returned to his or her previous position and schedule. Section
1.2
Family and Medical Leave Bargaining unit employees shall be entitled to
FMLA leave in accordance with the provisions of the CEI Associate Handbook as
revised 01/01/07. Section
