
Here we explain the "Status Quo"
that everyone hears about

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Management is stating in
their "captive audience" meetings and in their "letters"
that we have "Status Quo" right now, and technically that is correct.
HOWEVER, they CAN CHANGE our "Status Quo" at anytime they wish, like
they have been doing with our Attendance Points, Toke By-Laws and Insurance.
The difference is, WHEN
YOU VOTE THE UNION IN "STATUS QUO" IS "LOCKED IN" and
NOTHING CAN THEN CHANGE without you agreeing to it!
When YOU vote the Union in,
EVERYTHING STAYS "STATUS QUO".

without a negotiated
contract or the approval of the members involved in any possible change!
This is FEDERAL LAW!

They can NOT take away your
401(k)! (without a Union, they can!)

tokes! (without a Union, and if the court rules for Wynn, they can!)
They can NOT place a sign on
the tables concerning tokes! (without a Union, they can!)
They can NOT take away your
Health Insurance! (without a Union, they can!)
They can NOT change the limits
on toke bets! (without a Union, they can!)
They can NOT change the limits
on "hand ins"! (without a Union, they can!)
They can NOT include anyone
else in your toke pool! (without a Union, they can!)
They can NOT change the PTO/Vacation!
(without a Union, they can!)
ONCE YOU VOTE "YES"
FOR THE UNION, NOTHING CAN CHANGE!
"STATUS QUO" is LOCKED IN!
Having status quo "LOCKED
IN" is the
same thing as having a contract! That's right! They can change NOTHING without your approval!
How long can you lock in "status quo"? Until we reach an
agreement and the Dealers ratify a contract! Forever, if that's how long it
takes! THERE WILL BE NO STRIKES!
YOU HAVE EVERYTHING LOCKED IN!
Think of it like this, you have
been continually LOSING each and every year. They just keep chipping away at you.
So, once you vote the Union in, the losses stop! That in itself is a gain! Think
about that!
They say you will have no
strength, BALONEY! If the Culinary does not agree to a
contract, who does it affect? ONLY those who work at your casino. If the
Culinary were to ever go on strike because of their disagreements, it would be
ONLY the Culinary workers at your casino who would be going on strike, not
the entire Local! So, what makes them any stronger than you? NOTHING! However, if
all Culinary contracts end close to each other, then maybe they could all use
that as their strength. Well, so can you!
Think about this, if you keep "status quo"
locked in (no longer losing like you do every year, making that a
gain in itself) until you reach a contract agreement, who knows how many other
casino Dealers will be organized by then. Believe us, the TWU is receiving
Authorization Cards from all up and down the strip right now, just from this website. More casino Dealer websites are coming online VERY SOON.
As you maintain your locked in "status
quo", other casino Dealers WILL be organizing, adding to the strength of the
Las Vegas Dealers Local 721!
To prove to you all about what
having "status quo" locked in means, we have added a letter to this page from The Wynn
that has been mailed out concerning the Health Insurance "Open
Enrollment".
Take special note what it says
at the very bottom (footnote) of the letter,
"Federal law prohibits Wynn Las Vegas
from extending the changes referenced above to employees represented by the
Transport Workers Union of America during the pendency of contract negotiations.
Accordingly, there will be no change to the benefits of the employees
represented by the Transport Workers Union of America"
(The letter doesn't mention
the new "plan" is not available to any other Union employee either,
but they have better anyway, as may we!)
"STATUS QUO" IS
LOCKED IN!
Below is a copy of a letter
mailed out to The Wynn Dealers. Now, maybe Steve Wynn is
offering a "better" package than what they had the year before
(doubtful), but if he is, consider this: Possibly the ONLY reason he would offer
"better" coverage is to try to break the Unions back and trying to
show the Dealers there "See, if you were not in the TWU you could have this
too"?
How many times has your
insurance, or ANY casino Dealers insurance gotten better in the last 15 years?
NONE!
Our main point of this letter
is to PROVE to every Dealer that once you vote the Union in,
EVERYTHING STAYS THE SAME! There
is an exception to this. IF the members of the bargaining unit involved approve
of the "change", they can then accept it even while having Status Quo
"locked in".
