Some
say if you organize you will have to pay union dues, which they think
will add to your costs and result in less money in your pocket.
That is wrong!
Yes, Union Dues are
REQUESTED BUT NOT REQUIRED!
Nevada
is a "Right to Work State" which means that every employee has a right
to work without being forced to pay for employment (one of the meanings
anyway).
You
will still be in the Union even if you do not pay Dues!
70% of the dues
stays in the
Local Chapter while 30% goes to the International.
Dues
will pay for
themselves many times over.
First of all, let’s use cocktail waitresses as an
example. Their starting pay is $12-per-hour! That is $5-per-hour more than a
20-year dealer makes!
You
won’t get to that level immediately, but eventually you may.
But,
if you were able to secure just a fifty-cent raise,
that would be about double of
what it would cost for Dues.
There is also the possibility
down the road you may even get
different pays
for such things as the number of games
you deal
(dealers who deal
more games should be compensated for their skills)
or for the shift you work
(shift pay).
Again, more than offsetting any Dues.
These increases in pay will more than overcome any Union Dues
you pay.
Also, in the case of say an unlawful termination, the Union
will provide
an attorney to represent that dealer at no cost.
Offices
and the people required to administer the Union for us all cost money. Nothing
in life is free.
Don't
let the Union Dues stop you from joining the Union.
LET'S
BAND TOGETHER NOW!
